The United Nations Correspondents
Association (UNCA)
will host its 15th Annual UNCA Awards Dinner
and Dance for the best written and
electronic media coverage of the United
Nations, its agencies and field operations.
The prizes amount to over $50,000...
with $10,000 each for the main categories.
Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will present
the prizes at the Awards gala dinner on
Wednesday December 15 at Cipriani 42nd
Street in New York.
John Prendergast, co-founder of the Enough
Project, and Academy Award Winner Mira
Sorvino, will take part in the
event with the attendance of Hollywood
celebrities, UN Diplomats and journalists
from around the world.
UNCA is a professional organization of
nearly 200 journalists from dozens of
countries representing scores of
publications and broadcasters from all
regions of the world, plus the major global
news agencies.
Previous recipients of the UNCA Citizen of
the World award include William H. Roeby
(Chairman, & CEO of MTV Networks
International) ,Nicolas Cage (2009),
Professor Jeffrey Sachs (economist and
Director of the Earth Institute (2008), Sir
Richard Branson (2007), President Bill
