One of the most anticipated events of the social season,
the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s Annual Gala will take
place at 7:00 PM on February 27, 2010 at the Boca Raton
Resort & Club. Join Chairpersons, Gail and Adam Bankier for
a lavish evening that will include art, entertainment
featuring celebrated Elvis Presley tribute artist Chris
MacDonald, in celebration of our Honorary Chairs, Dani and
Jack Sonnenblick. This year's theme is
"An Evening with Elvis," commemorating the Museum's upcoming
exhibition, Elvis at 21.
“For nearly 60 years, The Boca
Raton Museum of Art has been a tremendous asset to the
community, providing excellent educational outreach programs
and outstanding exhibitions for guests of all ages and
backgrounds,” said Adam Bankier. “Gail and I are delighted
to chair the Museum’s Annual Gala in order to help the
Museum raise funds to continue its mission. This elegant
affair will be a truly unforgettable evening.”
Adam Bankier is an Attorney and
CPA in Boca Raton. He has served on the Board of Trustees of
the Boca Raton Museum of Art since 2001. Prior to that, Mr..
Bankier was President of the Museum’s Foundation. Gail
Bankier is a practicing Chiropractor in Boca Raton/Delray
Beach. Both Gail and Adam are strong supporters of the
Museum and other nonprofit organizations in the community.
Dani Sonnenblick joined the Museum
Board of Trustees in 1987 and is the longest-serving current
Board Member at the Boca Raton Museum of Art. She most
recently served as co-chair of the Patrons. She is an avid
art collector and has lent portions of her private
collections to the Museum for several exhibitions. A retired
interior designer, Mrs. Sonnenblick has used her creative,
critical eye for numerous Museum endeavors and has served as
a past Gala co-chair. Jack Sonnenblick served as a Combat
Engineer 1st Lieutenant with General Patton’s Third Army in
the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. He is a retired mortgage
and real estate banker and was CEO of Sonnenblick-Goldman
Corp. Dani and Jack Sonnenblick have been married for 63
years and have three children, eight grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
For the past two decades, the
Museum's Annual Gala has remained a highlight of South
Florida's social calendar. This prestigious event celebrates
the Museum's achievements and supports the institution to
perpetuate its Permanent Collection, stellar exhibitions and
educational and family programming benefiting the cultural
life of many residents and visitors to South Florida.
The event will begin with a
cocktail reception at 7:00 PM, followed by dinner and
entertainment, including a live performance by noted Elvis
Presley tribute artist, Chris MacDonald, who will perform
portions of his tribute show “Memories of Elvis.”
