On
Monday, December 6, a stellar gathering of literary
and publishing luminaries will celebrate the art of
fiction at The Center for Fiction’s 2010
Benefit and Awards Dinner in New York City. (www.centerforfiction.org)
Honorary Co-Chairs for the event: author Toni
Morrison and New Yorker editor, David Remnick.
Emcee: Nora Ephron. The Center is the only
non-profit literary organization in the United
States devoted entirely to fiction. The 6th Maxwell
E. Perkins Award will be presented by writer Richard
Ford to literary agent Amanda Urban of
International Creative Management,
Inc. (ICM).
The Center’s 2010 Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize
will be presented to one of seven finalists
attending the dinner.
Cocktails and auction at 6:30 pm. Dinner and award
presentations at 7:30 pm. The New York Racquet and
Tennis Club, 370 Park Avenue. Tickets from $550;
tables at $5500, $7500, $10,000 and $25,000.
