On Saturday March 20, 2010 the first ever Hearts and
Hope, Inc. Designer Avenue opens to the public at
Downtown at the Gardens. “The innovative fundraiser
is unique on many levels” said,
Patrice P. Austin, CEO and Founder of Hearts and
Hope, Inc. Co-Chairs Melissa Ziober of RZ Design
Group and Noe X. Guerra, Hearts and Hope Board
member of NXG Architecture Inc. have brought
together ten interior designers to create ten unique
children’s bedrooms and family spaces. In addition
to being one of the interior designer’s, architect
Noe X. Guerra also designed the space for the
Designer Avenue to take place in and has been able
to get the space built at no cost. “It has been an
incredible experience,” says Co-Chair Noe X. Guerra.
“We have carpenters, electricians and craftsman all
donating their time, and materials to make this
event come to fruition. I particularly want to
thank Dan Reedy; of Onshore Construction for his
help building the designer spaces it is a great
gift! We are also thrilled to have Downtown at the
Gardens as a partner, donating a store in which we
can make this all happen.”
In addition, Ms. Ziober and Mr. Guerra announced
that Palm Beach interior designer Jack Fhillips
would donate items, which will decorate his space
for a raffle during the month long event. “We
couldn’t be more pleased that Mr. Fhillips has been
so generous,” said Ms. Ziober. Other interior
designers creating spaces for the event are, RZ
Design Group, Katherine Shenaman Interiors, NXG
Architecture, Greg Lomabardi Design, Angela
Reynolds, Home Life Interiors, Carolyn Roy
Interiors, The Good Stuff and Casablanca. Designs
will include a tea party room, indoor koi pond and
tree house.
The Hearts and Hope Designer Avenue, opens on
Saturday, March 20, 2010 and will remain open
through April 18th. A Grand Opening
Preview Cocktail Party is planned for Friday, March
19th with Jay Cashmere, WPTV NewsChannel
5 Anchor/Reporter serving as Honorary Chair for the
event. The Opening Preview Cocktail Party is hosted
by Whole Foods Market and includes a silent auction,
while guests will have the opportunity to be the
first to see the Designer Avenue rooms.
The Designer Avenue will also feature a boutique
with 15% of the proceeds donated back to Hearts and
Hope, Inc. The boutique being put together by
interior designer Carolyn Roy will feature
one-of-a-kind jewelry, vintage collectibles,
photography, hand painted totes and haviana’s and
much more.
In addition, to children’s themed rooms by top area
designers, The Hearts and Hope, Inc. Designer Avenue
is proud to sponsor an art exhibition featuring the
artwork of students from Palm Beach County area high
schools including William T. Dwyer and Jupiter High
School’s. The juried show is open to all
local high school students. The top winners will
have their work on exhibition for duration of the
event. The pieces will be available for sale with a
portion of the proceeds donated to Hearts and Hope,
Inc. The grand prizewinner will receive a hundred
dollars for their school’s art department.
