New York City Opera will celebrate the beginning of the
2010-2011 season with a black tie evening featuring a
concert with Grammy Award-winning American soprano
Christine Brewer and the New York City Opera Orchestra
conducted by Music Director George Manahan. Christine Brewer
is currently singing the role of Lady Billows in ALBERT
HERRING at Santa Fe Opera to rave reviews. This gala concert
will be the best opportunity in New York City to hear one of
the world's leading sopranos.
A grand party featuring dinner and dancing to music by
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on the Promenade of the
David H. Koch Theater will immediately follow the
performance. The evening's Gala Chair will be Angela Chao.
All proceeds from the Fall Gala support City Opera's mission
to create innovative productions of new and classic work,
reach a wide audience with affordable ticket prices, and
bring music to the lives of thousands of public school
students through its acclaimed education programs.
