Monday, April 19, 2010... National Dance
Institute (NDI) holds its Annual Gala,
Storytelling Around the World, at
the NOKIA Theatre Times Square, 44th Street
and Broadway in Manhattan. The evening will begin with a
cocktail reception at 6:00 PM followed by
dinner, awards presentations and a
performance by NDI dancers. Harry Belafonte
is the 2010 Artistic Honoree. James D.
Stern, Director and Producer of the
documentary “Every Little Step” and
Award-Winning Producer of Broadway shows
including
Hairspray
and The
Producers, will be honored.
Honorary Gala Chairs are Ketty and François
Maisonrouge; Susan and Donald Newhouse; and
Madaleine Berley and Arnold S. Penner. Gala
Chairs are Lauren B. Cramer and Demetrius
Fexy. Gala Co-Chairs are Valerie T. and
Charles Diker; Edith and Jonathan Fassberg;
Kathy and Joe Mele; Linda Singer and Louis
Klein, Jr.; Helen Stambler Neuberger and Jim
Neuberger; Anya Herz Shiva and Dr. Andrew

Proceeds will
benefit National Dance Institute, a
not-for-profit organization founded in 1976
by world-renowned New York City Ballet
dancer Jacques d’Amboise. NDI’s
award-winning dance education program
transforms the lives of 35,000
New York City public
school children and their families each
