Mission
HSA is a Tokyo and New York based nonprofit organization
founded in 2009 by
Tomo Nomura as the private sector’s nonprofit correspondent
to the efforts made to
date by the United Nations to advance human security. Its
mission is to increase
awareness of human security issues through the promotion of
musical performances
and events, to encourage the private sector’s proactive
involvement, and to advance
the utilization of all possible resources to support human
security initiatives. Among
these resources, HSA believes in the unifying power of music
to inspire and generate
hope, hence adopting the name Power of Muze as its program
moniker. Through this
initiative, HSA strives to mobilize citizens as well as the
private sector to help alleviate
global suffering through a universal language, bringing
music and culture to feed
the spirit in parts of the world afflicted by armed
conflict, poverty, disease and other
lifethreatening challenges.
