What is one of the best ways to support innovative
design and
Palm Beach County culture? Go to the Yuppie Auction,
of course!
The second annual Yuppie Auction takes place at the
Omphoy Ocean Resort on April 22, 7:00 p.m. Proceeds
benefit Design Forward 2011 and the Palm Beach
County Cultural Council.
This is no ordinary Yuppie Auction and dinner party.
Sure, just visiting and dining in the slick new
Omphoy featuring chef extraordinaire Michelle
Bernstein is a special experience. But to see what
makes this auction really unique is a closely
guarded secret that will only be revealed the night
of the event. Seating is limited, so reserve your
spot soon!
Design Forward was created to promote awareness of
design in Palm Beach County. The 2011 showcase will
focus on urban design and how design can interact
with and improve a community. The premier Design
Forward was held in April, 2009 and featured
attainable, sustainable interiors by seven young
designers creating rooms for under $3,000. Over 350
people attended the opening night party, which
raised $10,000 for the Cultural Council’s education
programs.
Design Forward Chairmen are Hilary Jordan and Dack
Patriarca. The Yuppie Auction chairman is Jay
Holmes. The committee is Mary Brittain Cheatham,
Kevin Clark, Benjamin and Christina Macfarland,
Bertram and Kathryn Martin, Andrew Steel, Tara Tobin
and Erik Waldin. Sponsors include the Omphoy Ocean
Resort, Palm Beach Philanthropy, Real Good Designs
and
Fusedog Media.
Tickets are $125.00 and include cocktails and
dinner.
