Her Majesty
Queen Silvia, and Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of
Sweden will attend the Childhood Spring Gala Dinner,
on April 2. Proceeds from
the gala dinner, being held by the global nonprofit
organization World Childhood Foundation, will benefit both
projects in the US and globally, among them Children’s
Harbor in Pembroke Pines and Kristi House in Miami. The
dinner is being underwritten and held in the home of the
event’s Grand Benefactors, Mr. Per-Olof and Mrs. Åsa-Lena
Loof.
“My wife, Åsa-Lena, and I are honored to host Her Majesty
and Her Royal Highness in support of World Childhood
Foundation,” said Mr. Loof, “It is a privilege to share our
home with such esteemed guests while benefitting a cause
that is dear to our hearts and vital to the future of the
children of the world.”
“We are pleased
to be in Florida for the Childhood Spring Gala Dinner,
in an effort to emphasize the tragic global issue of
sexual abuse and exploitation of children, present in
Florida and throughout the United States, as well as in
neighboring South and Latin America. It is imperative that
we work to reach beyond borders while remaining true to
helping children directly, one project at a time,” said
Childhood USA Executive Director,
Charlotte Brandin.
Opportunities to attend and support the event range from
$50,000 to $10,000. Seating for the Childhood Spring Gala
is limited to 175 and will be sold on a first-come-first
served basis. Individual seats are available for $1,000. To
purchase tickets, or for more information regarding the
event please call 954.766.2812. For further information
about World Childhood Foundation please contact

In addition,
prior to the Gala, on Friday, April 1, Her Majesty Queen
Silvia will host site visits for a small group of select
guests, to Children’s Harbor in Pembroke Pines and to Kristi
House, Orlowitz-Lee Center in Miami. These two local
organizations receive funding from Childhood for their work
among Children in Florida.
The World Childhood Foundation’s work is aimed at the most
marginalized children, the ones most often ignored and
forgotten. Childhood focuses especially on girls and the
main target groups are street children, children living in
institutions, young mothers and sexually abused children.
