In preparation for the
September 23 Light Up the Night cocktail fundraiser
on the grounds of the Andrus Children’s Center in North
Yonkers, famed chef and restaurateur Peter Kelly of X20 and
the Xaviar restaurants in Westchester and Rockland Counties,
received apples from the orchards on the Center’s historic
campus, the former Dyckman Family farm. Nancy Woodruff Ment,
president and CEO, visited with Kelly at Xaviar’s recently
to discuss the party and Kelly’s donation of a signature
apple dessert for the evening. They’re standing in front of
a painting commissioned by Kelly in 2007 by local artist
John Beerman, whose works are in the permanent collection of
the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the NYS Governor’s
Office.
