The New York Women’s Foundation®
(NYWF) will host The 2011 Queens Neighborhood Dinner
on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at
Riverview Restaurant and Lounge in Long Island City,
Queens. The annual event, this year organized by the
Circle of Sisters for Social Change, honors outstanding
women leaders from all five boroughs of New York City who
have demonstrated long-term dedication to their communities
through involvement in neighborhood-based work on behalf of
women and girls. This year’s dinner will honor four
prominent women leaders from Queens; the Lifetime
Achievement Awardees include Alice Cardona,
Former NYWF Board President
and Kwanghee Kim,
Former NYWF Board Member,
in addition, the Neighborhood Leadership Awardees include
Seema Agnani,
Chhaya CDC Executive Director
and Robina Niaz,
Turning Point
for Women and Families Executive Director.
The event will be emceed by Cindy Rodriguez, WNYC-New
York Public Radio Reporter and will feature guest
speaker, Vivian Lee, NY1 News Anchor and Reporter.
The dinner is an opportunity to share in the rich and
diverse cultures that Queens has to offer. Attendees will
experience food from a local restaurateur, live music from
Brazilian Jazz Band, Grupo Kriuolo and a special
Samba dance class. NYWF invites you to meet its
extraordinary Queens Grantees Partners whose advocacy makes
Queens a thriving borough for businesses, women and
families.
