City Harvest’s Second
Annual Fall Marketplace Event
The Brooklyn Local
City Harvest, the world's first food rescue organization
dedicated to feeding New York City’s hungry, will host its
second annual Brooklyn Local event at Pier 1 in Brooklyn
Bridge Park (334 Furman Street, Brooklyn, NY) on Saturday,
September 22, 2012 from
11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Brooklyn Local showcases Brooklyn’s most delectable
fares and event proceeds will help City Harvest feed more
hungry New Yorkers. Guests can expect more than 75 vendor
booths highlighting local and gourmet food items as well as
craft beer and wine.
Tickets to enter the market will cost $10 (kids under 5 are
free), family passes (for two adults and up to four
children) will cost $40, and visitors can purchase an
all-access pass for $90 which includes admission to the
Tasting Tent and Happy Hour. Tickets that include access to
the Tasting Tent and Market will cost $75, and tickets that
include access to the Market and Happy Hour will cost $35.
All-access passes are also available for children ages 5-12
for $30.
Tickets go on sale at
www.cityharvest.org on July 18th and the event
will be held rain or shine. Only a limited number of Tasting
Tent tickets (500) will be available.

About The Brooklyn Local
The Brooklyn Local will feature prepared food and purveyors
from the Brooklyn Flea in a special section, a Tasting Tent
with private seating, hosted by Frank Castronovo and Frank
Falcinelli of Frankies Spuntino and Prime Meats, featuring
food and drink from some of Brooklyn’s finest
establishments, an interactive Kids’ Zone with musical
entertainment and children’s activities, and gift bags for
sale, filled with a selection of quality products from the
market. Several borough tastemakers have signed-on to chair
the event, including: Ted Allen from Chopped, Momofuku’s Sue
Chan, Food & Wine’s Dana Cowin, Taylor Erkkinen from The
Brooklyn Kitchen, Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castronovo from
Frankies Spuntino and Prime Meats, and Mandy Oser from
Ardesia. Borough President Marty Markowitz has also pledged
to support The Brooklyn Local and will be joining his fellow
Brooklynites for the festivities.
