The Nutriarts is an art collective and
exhibition of the merged inputs and
imaginations of Mealku HomeCooks and
visual artists. With The Nutriarts we
pair artists with Mealku Homecooks. The
pairings are initiated around a food
interest or favorite dish. Flavors,
textures, colors and history of the dish
are then presented in an agreed visual
art form that in turn inspires the
creation of new formulations of the
actual dish. Art inspiring food and vice
versa. We pair each Sponsored Artist
with a Mealku Homecook and have them
create an "art dish" together combining
artistic expression and excellent taste.
The collaboration is not limited to just
a piece of art with a corresponding
dish. We encourage all participants to
go wild and approach this collaborative
effort with reckless abandon. As a
Sponsored Artist you will receive
materials support and will have your
renditions exhibited during The
Nutriarts Show in July. As part of the
Mealku Makes series, extensive PR and
promotional support will be provided and
considerable recognition secured.
Renditions will be sold and a portion of
the proceeds will be donated to
celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's charity
Food Revolution.
This Fall, 2012, Mealku, a
New York meal cooperative dedicated to
sharing, and making easily accessible,
wholesome, healthy and delicious home cooked
meals launches its tasty new service
offering easy access to locally-prepared
food from trusted neighborhood home cooks.
Mealku acts as a middle man and provides
everything from the reservations system, the
pickup and delivery, and the containers to
store your food. Mealku
has created a cooperative membership of
vetted and like-minded home cooks that
connects their food interests, concerns and
motivations while allowing us to reattach
meaning to what we eat, secure trust,
establish real community, facilitate food
discovery, economize time and reduce waste.
The service also links cooking efforts
amongst its members. When someone devotes
time and care to the preparation of a meal
for themselves we ask that they also make
portions of that meal available to other
Mealku members in their area. In return, for
every meal ordered, recipients reciprocate
a meal offer of their own within a 30-day
period. Mealku manages the meal exchange and
supports costs with a monthly cooperative
dues and a small per order delivery fee. The
meal cooperative takes the ancient behavior
and practice of sharing food/meal swapping
and removes all of the barriers. Mealku was
founded, and is led by, Ted D’Cruz-Young an
advertising industry veteran and reformed
instigator of industrial food marketing
deceit. For more information visit www.mealku.com

How Mealku Works
Mealku is really really simple. Homemade
meals made by approved HomeCooks who want to
share. When you are making a delicious meal
simply post it to the Mealku site and share
what you have available with other Mealku
Members. They get to eat your lovely food
and you get the feeling that you've done
good in the world. Mealku will deal with the
food containers and the pick up and
delivery. And, because of our KU point
system, when you need a nutritious homemade
dinner you’ll be able to order from a huge
selection of almost everything you could
think of. All of our HomeCooks are approved
and follow our Food Safety First Guidelines.
What does it cost?
For the moment Mealku is a complimentary
service.
