Athletic League (PAL) will hold its 24th Annual Women of the
Year Luncheon at The Pierre on 5th Avenue at 61st Street,
honoring Patricia M. Altschul, Laura Desmond, Francine
LeFrak and Siobhan Schroth. Dr. Deepak Chopra will receive a
Humanitarian Award, and Liz Smith will be given a Lifetime
Award. The reception begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch.
I. Dolly Lenz is the Event Chair with Amelia Bernstein as
Honorary Chair. Andrea Catsimatidis and Jenny Lenz lead the
Junior Committee. Mark Simone is the Emcee for the Luncheon.
The event honors women of accomplishment while helping New
York City’s youngsters grow to their full potential. Benefit
tables range from $5,000 to $50,000. Individual tickets are
$500.

civilian-run PAL in the country. Founded in 1914, PAL has

the city’s young people for 98 years. PAL provides
recreational, educational, cultural and social activities to
