Children’s Aid Society Gala will Honor

What: Over
500 people will gather to celebrate The
Children’s Aid Society’s 160
years of service to children and families in poverty, and to
honor civic and corporate partners who demonstrate
significant commitment to improving the lives of children in
high-needs New York City neighborhoods.
This
third annual gala will feature a program with President
& CEO Richard R. Buery, Jr. and
children who benefit from Children’s Aid Society’s
over 100 programs and services. The event is expected to
raise more than $1 million to support programs for
low-income families across New York City.
Who: Mayor
Michael R. Bloomberg will
be presented with the Public Service Award for his
substantial contributions in education reform and improving
the lives of New York City’s children.
Richard W. Edelman, President & CEO
of Edelman and
board member of The Children’s Aid Society will receive the
Promise Award for his commitment to serving our city’s
neediest children.
The Children’s Aid Society is
an independent, not-for-profit organization established to
serve the children of New York City. Our mission is to help
children in poverty to succeed and thrive. We do this by
providing comprehensive supports to children and their
families in targeted high-needs New York City neighborhoods.
Founded in 1853, it is one of the nation’s largest and most
