celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of women as
professionals, caregivers and philanthropists.

Maids" and a former Women Who Care Award
honoree, returns as Host of the star-studded luncheon.

energy back to society, both in their personal lives and
professional fields, is a wonderful testament to their

Who Care Award
Honorees:
Judith Light won
her second Tony Award in two years this past year for her
work in The
Assembled Parties. She is the first consecutive acting
winner in almost 20 years and is also the first ever
consecutive winner in that category, having previously won
for Other
Desert Cities. Judith
also won Drama Desk Awards for both The
Assembled Parties and Other
Desert Cities. Judith
was also nominated for a Tony Award in 2011 for her
performance in Lombardi.
This year, Judith joined the second season of the TNT hit
show, “Dallas.” She has just completed the ABC pilot for
“The Winklers,” starring opposite Henry Winkler. Judith’s
television career began with her two-time Best Actress Emmy®
Award-winning turn in “One Life to Live.” She then went on
to star on the hit comedy series “Who's the Boss?” Up until
2010, she was seen on the ABC-TV series “Ugly Betty,” for
which she received an Emmy nomination. Simultaneously, she
co-starred on NBC’s long-running drama “Law & Order: Special
Victims Unit” in the recurring role of Supreme Court Judge
Elizabeth Donnelly. Judith has also starred in “Phenom” and
“The Simple Life”, created by long-time manager/producer
Herb Hamsher, “The Stones,” and in over 15 television
movies, including her role as Ryan’s mother, Jeanne, in “The
Ryan White Story.”
Judith has starred in the independent films The
Shoemaker, Ira
& Abby, and Save
Me, a 2007 film which she also produced with Herb
Hamsher through their production company, Tetrahedron
Productions.
Judith is a board member and advocate for many organizations
and charities representing AIDS-related and human rights
issues including: Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS, The
Names Project/The AIDS Memorial Quilt, The AIDS Memorial
Grove, CDC’s Business Responds to AIDS/Labor Responds to
AIDS, Hollywood Health and Society, Faith in America,
Project Angel Food, The Matthew Shepard Foundation, The
National Aids Memorial Grove, The Point Foundation, The Rome
Chamber Music Festival, and The Trevor Project.
China Machado was
born and raised in Shanghai, China, and moved to South
America at age sixteen, and then to Paris where she became a
house model with Givenchy. She went on to be the
highest-paid runway model in Europe, working for couture
houses including Balenciaga, Pierre Cardin, Roberto Cappucci
and many more all over Europe. She was brought to New York
by Oleg Cassini, and met Diana Vreeland. There she became
the first non-Caucasian to appear on the cover of a major
American fashion magazine when Richard Avedon shot her for Harper's
Bazaar in
1959. Avedon called her 'probably the most beautiful woman
in the world.'
China went on to become Harper's Senior
Fashion Editor and then Creative Fashion Director for the
magazine for over a decade, and later was Fashion and Beauty
Director for the first five years of Lear's
Magazine, including
producing its prototype issue and creating its Clio
Award-winning advertising campaign. She
has been named one of the “50 women in 50 years of Fashion”
by The Fashion Group.
She has been a fashion consultant for print and TV
commericals, for companies ranging from Revlon and Max
Factor to Coca-Cola and Kleenex, as well as producing two
major fashion shows for Chanel, the Met Opera and LA Music
Center. She has been the style designer for numerous movie
stars including Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Judy
Garland, Catherine Deneuve, and Sophia Loren.
Her designing has included a clothing line for the Henry
Bendel studio which was sold nationally, as well as
designing over 200 sweaters for her China Machado sweater
company, which were twice nominated for the Dupont Fashion
Awards. She has produced several fashion movies for NBC,
Hallmark and Hanai Mori.
China's more recent ventures include her real estate
redevelopment, the opening and running of “The Country
Bazaar” general store, and an art gallery for photography in
Watermill. In the past three years, “W” magazine
did a 30-page story on her which caused a snowballing effect
as since then there have been over 100 stories on her all
over the world. She was featured in the wonderful Cole
Haan's “Born in 1928” campaign to mark its 85th anniversary
in 2013, which was a sensation around the world. China is
currently working on her autobiography.
Julia Monk, Senior
Vice President and global director of hospitality interiors,
is based in HOK’s Shanghai office. She also serves on HOK’s marketing
board. Throughout her career, Julia has focused on defining
luxury guest experiences. Working with prestigious hotel
brands around the world, Julia has designed for Conrad, Four
Seasons, JW Marriott, Mandarin Oriental, Park Hyatt,
Peninsula, Ritz Carlton, Shangri-La, W Hotels, and Westin.
She has created and defined brands for Sheraton Suites,
Renaissance, InterContinental, Radisson Blu, and TRYP.
Currently, Julia is working on the Ascott Chengdu Hotel and
Residences in Chengdu, China, and the Marriott Marquis in
Washington, DC. A frequent lecturer and panelist at
hospitality conferences, Julia is an industry leader in the
field of hospitality design and a recipient of the
industry’s highest honors.
Hannah Jacobs is a
cultural game changer, an advocate with a mission, and a
woman who truly cares. Hannah is a founder of Family Member
Inc., a not-for-profit organization that works to eradicate
Internet hate speech targeting children and adults with
special needs and disabilities. Family Member helps to
ensure that people with special needs and disabilities are
represented fairly and accurately in news, entertainment,
and social media. Hannah holds true to her personal mission
to erase the negative stereotypes that exist today, ensuring
that each and every person with a disability is portrayed
honestly. Hannah worked for Christie's for 20 years,
including heading up the Los Angeles office in Beverly Hills
where she oversaw the estates of Billy McCarty Cooper,
Charles Ducommun, and William Coberly along with the private
collection of Barbara Streisand, and later became Senior
Vice President and Director of Christie's 19 regional
offices in North and South America. She
is now the co-founder of The Art of Auction.

with disabilities and their families. Over

Who Care has
