Lutheran HealthCare and its Board of
Trustees today announced details for the 131st Annual Dinner
Dance. The black-tie affair will honor Myles Davis, senior
vice president for Corporate Services, as Lutheran's
celebrity honoree and Naji A. Shahin, M.D., vice chair of
Surgery, as the physician honoree.
At last year's event, Lutheran raised $1.4
million which is benefitting the development of an Emergency
Mental Health Center. Mental health needs in Brooklyn are
huge and Lutheran has one of the busiest emergency rooms in
Brooklyn, with a state-of-the-art Level I Trauma Center that
meets the needs of a largely underserved population. The
proceeds this year are designated to continuing the
Emergency Mental Health Center renovation.
In addition to raising much needed funds, the
event celebrates Lutheran's 131-year legacy of providing
quality care to the communities of Brooklyn and highlights
special individuals who have made contributions to Lutheran
and the patients we serve. For the sixth year, this event
will be emceed by Michael Gargiulo,
WNBC anchor.
