DESTINY RISING, an Evening of Dance
at The Joyce Theater on 4/21 to Benefit
the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation
On Monday,
April 21 at 7:30pm at The
Joyce Theater (175
8th Avenue), the NYC
Dance Alliance Foundation will
present DESTINY
RISING, an
evening of dance artistry benefiting the NYC Dance Alliance
Foundation College Scholarship Program (which to date has
awarded an impressive $8.4 million in college scholarships).
Featuring special guest performances from prominent
professional dance companies from all over the country,
outstanding NYC Dance Alliance alumni and NYC Dance Alliance
faculty, some of the artists taking part include Broadway
dancers and NYCDA faculty Joey
Dowling (In
The Heights, Sweet Charity) & Andy
Pellick (Original
casts of Wicked & Tarzan) and
the Houston
Metropolitan Dance Company.
VIP tickets are $100 (prime
orchestra ticket and a ticket to the after party) and
additional tickets are priced at $45 (orchestra
seating) and $25 (for
loge or front row orchestra seating) and can be purchased by

There will also be a post-performance talkback available to
all in attendance.
Guest performances for the evening will include a duet from Joey
Dowling and Andy
Pellick, the Houston
Metropolitan Dance Company, Peridance Contemporary Dance
Company, student
dancers from Dean
College (MA)
and Mercyhurst
University Ballet Theatre (PA),
and a performance from JovoDance (choreographed
by Scott Jovovich, who has been a principal dancer with The
Joffrey Ballet and
appeared on Broadway in Jerome
Robbins’ Broadway, Once Upon a Mattress and Fosse).
Other choreographers featured in the evening will include Lesley
Bories-Scalise, Gregory King and Suzi
Taylor.
