7th Annual
Golf Outing
To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The 7th Annual
Golf Outing will be held Saturday, June 6th at
Abacoa Golf Club to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
(LLS). On June 6th friends
will come together again to host the 7th and
final year of their Golf Outing in memory of family who have
lost their fight against lymphoma and other blood cancers.
After losing his father, Milt Thackaberry, to lymphoma, Mike
Thackaberry decided he wanted to do something in his
memory. Mike, with the help of friend, Brian Muller,
founded an Annual Golf Outing that benefits the LLS. This
year’s event will be held on Saturday, June 6th at
the Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida.
The tournament, which was founded in 2009,
has continued to grow and after six years, has successfully
raised nearly $100,000 and includes more than 100
participants each year.
Saratoga Roofing, a national commercial
roofing and construction company, will again be the title
sponsor of this year’s Golf Outing. Saratoga President,
Denver Green said, “We are happy to be the title sponsor and
support such a worthy cause. Any time we can give back to
the community, and help an employee, we know we are making a
good investment.” Thackaberry, who is an employee of
Oklahoma based Saratoga, said he is overwhelmed by the
amount of support given by his company, Saratoga, and other
local merchants.
“We have a lot planned for this year’s tournament,” said
Thackaberry. The tournament will include a $10,000 cash
prize for a hole-in-one as well as raffle prizes and awards
for lowest team score and closest to the pin and long
drive. “This is always a fun tournament and something that
is near to my heart,” said Thackaberry.
Major annual supporters of the outing include SE Florida
based Therma Seal Roof Systems, LLC owned by Dave Wikel and
Factory Direct Supply, a construction products and metal
fabrication company. “We look forward to this outing every
year. Each year it gets bigger and better and best of all
it’s for a great cause,” says Gary Muller part owner of
Factory Direct Supply.
The tournament, which is a four man scramble,
will have a shotgun start at 8:00am. Lunch will be provided
with an awards ceremony directly following. All proceeds
benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
