New York City Opera Renaissance will be hosting a gala
concert and dinner on Monday
evening, March 9, 2015 at
Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall, Time Warner
Center in honor of the late Maestro Julius Rudel and his
invaluable contributions to the New York City Opera.
The gala, which begins at 6 p.m. with a reception (with a
Step and Repeat) in the Ertegun Atrium, continues at 7 p.m.
with a concert at the Rose Theater, followed by a dinner at
8:30 p.m. in the Appel Room.
The concert will feature a glittering array of performers
including David
Daniels, Mark Delavan, Plácido Domingo, Christine Goerke,
James Morris, Frederica von Stade and Multi-Platinum Legend
Sting
singing a variety of classic arias as well as works by major
living American composers, including a world premiere of
Tobias Picker's The
Waking based
on the poem by Theodore Roethke.
A
number
of luminaries from the world of politics and entertainment
are expected to attend this most extraordinary event.
