Benefiting Safe Horizon

On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, the 20th Annual
Champion Awards: Leading the Way benefiting Safe
Horizon will
take place at The Grand Hyatt in New York City. The Gala
will celebrate the success of and raise awareness for Safe
Horizon, the largest victims? services agency in the
United States that provides support, prevents violence and
promotes justice for victims of crime and abuse, their
families and communities.
Several awards will be presented to those who
have not only supported Safe
Horizon but
have assisted those in need in New York City as a whole.
Actor Alan
Cumming will
receive the Humanitarian
Award in
recognition of his work in bringing awareness to child abuse
through his book, 'Not My Father's Son', his tireless
efforts for human and civil rights, and his love and courage
for the LGBT community to help effect real change in the
world. The Corporate
Leadership Award will
be awarded to Verizon
and will be accepted by Nancy
Clark, CMO of Verizon
Wireless. Verizon has
advanced the domestic violence conversation in the
communities it serves as well as within its own community
and strongly believes in investing in organizations that
provide empowerment resources and care for victims of
domestic violence. Miss
America 2015 Kira Kazantsev will
receive the Voice
of Empowerment Award in
recognition of her work in bringing awareness to domestic
violence, her tireless efforts as a volunteer and Leader on
the Horizon member at Safe
Horizon, and her love and courage for victims and
survivors making sure they are not blamed but helped.

Champion Awards Event Committee.
The Gala will begin with a cocktail reception
and silent auction at 6:00pm following by dinner and the
Awards presentation at 7:00pm. Support levels will be as
follows: Ticket prices begin at $1,000; Sponsorship
packages begin at $10,000. Guest will attend the Gala in
festive attire.
Safe
Horizon envisions
a society free of family and community violence. Safe
Horizon is
the largest victims services agency in the United States,
touching the lives of more than 250,000 children, adults,
and families affected by crime and abuse throughout New York
City each year. Safe
Horizon offers
assistance to victims through 57 program locations,
including shelter, in-person counseling, legal services, and
more. Since 1978, Safe
Horizon has
provided victims of domestic violence, child abuse, human
trafficking, rape and sexual assault, as well as homeless
youth and families of homicide victims, with a wide range of
comprehensive support. Safe
Horizon's
programs also partner with governmental and other community
agencies to offer additional assistance, including finding
resources for those living outside New York City. Safe
Horizon also
advocates for policies on a local, state, and national level
on behalf of those affected by violence and abuse. For more
