Dubbed
a “warrior princess” by Michael
Lewis in
his New York Times
best-selling book, The
Blind Side,
Leigh
Anne is the inspirational matriarch who
has dedicated her life to
inspiring
hope and
genuine acts of generosity for all
deserving – but underserved –
members of
our communities.
After opening her heart
and home to Michael Oher, a homeless African American teen,
Leigh Anne
says the
experience was
life-changing. As described in
her most recent book, Turn Around: Reach Out, Give
Back, and Get Moving,
Leigh Anne
is a “nationally recognized motivational
speaker, New York Times best-selling
author, television
personality, and co-founder of
the Making It Happen Foundation,
,
a charitable organization whose
ultimate mission is to improve the standard of living and quality of life for all the
children fighting to survive
in the invisible
cracks of our
society.” She challenges readers to reconsider what it means to give
sacrificially, generously, and immediately, often times without ever having
to
leave your own
community.
“In our fast paced, get ahead world, Leigh Anne’s true life story is an example we
all need to follow
- taking time to ‘turn around’
and truly ‘see’ the
people
and situations that
need our
attention”
said Rainbow Days’
Founder and
CEO Cathey Brown. “It would be
easy to
be overwhelmed
by the tremendous needs the thousands of
children we
serve
each year have. That is just one reason we
are excitedfor Leigh Anne to
share
her story and remind
us that we’re
capable of doing,
being and giving more than we may think.”
