Efforts
(Chicago, IL) - The 66th Annual Polish American Medical
Society Physicians’ Ball will be held on February 6th, 2016
at Chicago’s exciting Ritz Carlton Hotel (160 E. Pearson).
The Polish American Medical Society (PAMS) is one of the
largest Polish-American organizations with over 400 members
and supporters of the medical community. Each year the ball
is dedicated to funding medical scholarships and other
noteworthy causes within the Polish community. This year,
the Paderewski Symphony Orchestra will benefit. 2016 also
marks the 70th anniversary of the Polish American Medical
Society, which has aided in various medical efforts and
assisted medical newcomers. Over the years, PAMS has
supported
Polish Museum of America, Polish-American
Association, Amber Coalition, Gift from the Heart
Foundation, The Kosciuszko Foundation, Polish Jesuits,
Polish Scouting Organization of Illinois; to name a few.
Guest of Honor is award-winning journalist,
Alex Storozynski. He is currently Chairman of the Board of
the Kosciuszko Foundation (KF). Previously, he was President
and Executive Director of the KF. The Foundation highly
promotes closer ties between Poland and the United States
through educational, scientific and cultural exchanges. His
book The Peasant Prince: Thaddeus Kosciuszko and the Era of
Revolution won many awards and honors, including the Templar
Military History Award. It has also received excellent
reviews from Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal and
New York Observer. Additionally, PAMS members has
honored over 21 individuals for their achievements in the
medical field. This year’s ball will feature, Professor.
Jaroslaw Maciejewski, Chairman of Hematology and Oncology
at
The Cleveland Clinic; Professor
George Krol, Department of Radiology at Memorial Sloan
Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York; Professor
Andrzej Matyja, Chairman of Generalm Gastrointestinal
and Oncologic Surgery
at Jagiellonian University Medical College
and President of the Regional Medical Council in Cracow;
Professor Malgorzata Szczerbo-Trojanowska, Chairman of
Radiology at the Medical University in Lublin; and Professor
Andrzej Jakubowiak, Director of the Myeloma Program at The
University of Chicago.
Guests of the ball will enjoy a delectable
dinner, dancing and enticing auction items. Very special
thanks to President of PAMS; Kornelia Krol, MD, FACOG and
its active members to making this event possible.
