Inside Broadway’s Exec. The first Broadway Beacon Award was given to Carol Channing in 1995. Hosted by FOX5 reporter Baruch Shemtov, the Beacon Awards will also feature a performance from the cast of On Your Feet.

The evening, which begins at 5:30pm with a cocktail reception, with the awards presentation and special live performances at 7pm, will also honor Richard Fitzgerald, CEO of Sound Associates, Inc. and Scott Nadeau, General Manager of the New York Marriott Marquis. Michael Presser says that I am extremely pleased that this year’s Beacon Awards will be given to four members of the Broadway community who are supportive of our mission to bring live theater into the lives of New York City public school students. Daniel Dae Kim and Andréa Burns are both important advocates of making theater accessible to younger and diverse audiences. In addition, our two business honorees, Richard Fitzgerald and Scott Nadeau are also prestigious members of the Broadway community who recognize the important role that the arts have in the development of our city’s youth. We are thrilled to celebrate all four of these distinguished individuals.”
