LEADING AUCTIONEERING CHAMPION ERIN WARD
SET TO OPEN HEARTS AND WALLETS
AT HAMPTONS HEART BALL
Celebrity benefit auctioneer to head
fundraising for annual American Heart Association gala in
Southampton on June 22
SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. —
New York State auctioneering champion Erin Ward will
lead the fundraising efforts at the annual American Heart
Association’s Hamptons Heart
Ball on June
22 at the Southampton Arts Center, the annual
East End event. Hot off of generating
more than $1 million for GLAAD at the LGBTQ
advocacy group’s GLAAD Media Awards honoring Beyonce,
Jay Z and Madonna, the
celebrity auctioneering champion and president of the New
York City Auctioneering Association is now heading to
Southampton in order to use her A-list fundraising skills to
help the AHA eradicate heart disease and stroke.
A third-generation auctioneer who has raised
well over $100 million to date through
her companies Star Benefit Auctions and Inspire
Hearts Fundraising, Ward's
specialty is raising money for charities through live
auctions and paddle raises, which offer opportunities to
donate that encourage entire rooms of patrons to
participate, which she calls “onsite crowdsourcing.”
“As a Long Island resident who began my
career in the nonprofit world before becoming an auctioneer,
I am especially excited to lead the bidding at the American
Heart Association’s annual charity event in Southampton,”
said Ward. “Heart disease and strokes affect millions, and
only through a dedicated effort can we find the best
possible treatments and preventions.”
A woman who has risen to the top of a
traditionally male dominated field, Ward is a performer in
her own right, donning designer dresses as she leads
auctions for worthy causes. She possesses a special touch
that inspires guests to connect with deserving charities and
dig deep in their pockets in support of humanitarian
missions — whether it be fighting cancer, championing
equality, educating children or protecting the environment.
An entrepreneur with a heart, Ward has made it her mission
to help the less fortunate and she travels throughout New
York, nationally and internationally in order to generate
needed funding.
Upcoming events for Ward include the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society (in Bethpage), Hudson River
Museum (in Yonkers), and the United States Merchant
Marine Academy (in Roslyn).
