Judy Woodruff,
Anchor and Managing Editor of PBS
NewsHour will serve as the event’s host
and moderator.
She has covered politics and other news
for over four decades at NBC, CNN and
PBS. Ms. Woodruff was the White House
correspondent and then chief Washington
correspondent for NBC from 1977–1983.
She then joined PBS as chief Washington
correspondent for MacNeil/Lehrer
NewsHour and anchored PBS’ award-winning
docuseries “Frontline with Judy
Woodruff”
from 1984–1990. She joined CNN in 1993
as a senior correspondent and anchor for
the weekday program “Inside Politics”
and returned to the NewsHour in 2007.
Ms. Woodruff is a founding co-chair of
the International
Women’s Media Foundation and a recipient
of over 25 honorary degrees and numerous
awards.
Audry Nafziger,
Senior Deputy District Attorney in
Ventura County, California, will be the
event’s featured speaker.
In her current role she specializes in
prosecuting sex crimes. Her
distinguished career of service also
includes legislative author, legal
trainer, and tireless advocate for
survivors of sexual abuse. While a law
student at the University of Southern
California, Ms. Nafziger was one of
thousands of women sexually abused by
the sole campus gynecologist, Dr. George
Tyndall. The $1 billion in settlements
to the survivors is the largest ever
granted. Ms. Nafziger’s courage and
dedication to protecting women and
children from sexual predators is
inspirational to The NYSPCC. |
