As the proud Captain of the Spanish
Oaks 4.0 Tennis Team, I want to personally salute everyone
on this GREAT TEAM for winning the
NEVADA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP title today.
What a record breaking year we have achieved.
A perfect l2-0 in league competition.
A perfect 5-0 record at the Nevada
State championships.
Our overall record of l7-0 is the BEST EVER for a Nevada State
Championship tennis team. We have made HISTORY!!!!
Today we beat a talented Club Sports Las Vegas team 3-2.
We are headed for the Intermountain Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah
August l9-22. I just made my hotel reservations for the
Marriott Residence Inn!!!! We will be playing state
champions from Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Idaho.
The winner goes to Nationals in Tucson.
I am very proud that this is the THIRD TEAM I am taking to Salt Lake.
Our 2003 team won the Intermountain Championship, going 5-0
in Utah. Let's do it again!!!!
The chemistry and comradery on our team is simply unparalleled.
I was happy to take the team to the Bagel Cafe for a Championship Victory
celebration today. I was proud to have my mom and dad
present. My beloved parents commented to me that ALL OF YOU
are champions and such wonderful gentlemen. They love you
guys.
Before the season I shared with you some goals:
First place finish: We did it (l2-0)
Nevada State Champions: We did it (5-0)
Intermountain Champs. That is next.
I told everyone on this team that I BELIEVED IN YOU. I
shared that all of us had a DREAM: Salt Lake City.
Well guys, we are now LIVING THAT DREAM.
Enjoy the ride. I offer everyone on this team a thunderous
standing ovation.

Remember, there is no letter "i" in the word TEAM. All of you guys were
tremendous friends and supported each other brilliantly.

We are going to the MOON.
The journey has been stupendous.
Oh what a feeling.
We are the CHAMPIONS OF NEVADA!!!! That is an honor.
Hope to see everyone at the Nevada Tennis Association banquet Tuesday
night at LAVO.

Just spoke to Driller Duane who won the most dramatic match of the Nevada
State Championships with his booming ace to close out the
"W". He will be IN THE HOUSE in Salt Lake City.
