The International Society of Palm
Beach hosted its
annual Holiday Gala Dinner Dance, “A
Night in Madrid”
on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the
Beach Club in Palm Beach.
The International Society of Palm
Beach’s patron members and guests
were greeted by Chairman Hermé de
Wyman Miro who announced during the
festivities that thanks to the
Society’s Benefactors support, 115
grants and scholarships were
distributed during this season and
thanked the Society’s Patrons for
their longtime, loyal support such
as the Gala’s Honorary International
Chairmen and Honorees Patrick Park
and Nathalie Fernandez de la Valle
and National Honorary Chairman Lois
Pope, as well as, Grand Benefactors
Florence DeGeorge and in memoriam
Lawrence DeGeorge, Helen and Richard
DeVos, Rhoda and David Chase, Sally
and Dick Robinson, Marianne and John
Castle, Norma and Simon Fireman,
Veronica and Alexis Mersentes and a
special appreciation went to the J.M.
Rubin Foundation and its President
Robert Owens and Trustee Mary
Harper.
Joan G. Rubin made a moving tribute
to Gala Chairman Hermé de Wyman Miro
in honor of her Birthday and
contributed a special scholarship in
her honor.

gave special recognition to the
Gala’s Junior Chairmen Hayden
Hosford, Terri Mersentes, Michael
Alexander and Ralph Principe and all
other Patron Member were recognized
with appreciation in the Gala’s
program.
The guests greatly enjoyed Joan
Miller’s Palm Beach Ballet Center’s
lovely ballerinas who performed a
dramatic Ravel’s Bolero and the
International Dance Champions
Babette & Warren Brown performed an
exciting Paso Doble. The guests
greatly enjoyed the beautiful décor
of Ed Wignall, the Beach Club
gourmet dinner and elegant
atmosphere, the Hoffman’s Chocolates
favors, the beautiful Swarovski
Crystal gifts for each lady, danced
to the lively Doug Verga’s Orchestra
and enjoyed each other’s company.
