– As plans get underway for the 2010 “Time is of the
Essence” luncheon, Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper (H.O.W.)
is proud to announce Helene Austin and Paula Cook as chairs
for the event.
Austin

interests and family ties to the area. Her first involvement

with premature children, which led to
becoming an advocate for Pediatrics and latter as a Board
Member at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a Co-Chair of
Barefoot on the Beach supporting St. Mary’s Hospital.
She has been actively involved in numerous charitable
endeavors including Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure for

as
co-chair of the annual event. “Time truly is of the
essence in creating awareness for this often silent killer,”
said Cook. “We are thrilled to have Dr. Carolyn Runowicz as
this year’s speaker. Our goal is to reach as many women as
possible and share the signs of early detection and learn
how we can hopefully one day beat ovarian cancer.”
Cook

underwriting campaign for Rosarian Academy’s Rose Ball, the
Norton Museum of Art’s Bal des Arts with her husband Mark
Cook and the Annual Dinner Dance for the Community
Foundation of Palm & Martin County. She is also an active
member of the Hospice Foundation Board and served as
president for the past three years.
