“FOUR MORE YEARS”
bellowed from the Sheraton Hotel
last night at the celebration
party for Mayor Mike Bloomberg.
All night long the thundering
beat of disco music revved up
the crowd anxious for final
election returns. Fans waved
red and blue fans; yelled,
sported buttons and signs in
many languages. They ate, drank
and relayed appreciation for
what Mike Bloomberg has done for
the city and they wanted
more. A quote in a Tom Stoppard
play: “Nothing is certain, all
is possible.” applied in the
wait, wait, wait for the
slightest nod of a
final tally.
New York’s 103rd
Mayor Edward Koch at 85 appeared
to thunderous applause,
reminding voters that 99th
Mayor Fiorella La Guardia, 102nd
Mayor Robert Wagner and he were
all third term Mayors. “Welcome
to the club, 108th
Mayor Mike Bloomberg”
Quickly steps behind the podiums
filled with campaign workers.
Jimmy Fallon, talk show host,
took center stage introducing
our winning Mayor Mike
Bloomberg. The yelling of “FOUR
MORE YEARS” took on
entirely new meaning as Mayor
Mike thanked all and pledged to
make New York City even better.
