The Luxury Marketing Council New York,
Celebrates the Holidays at New York Public Radio
(home of WQXR)
at their elegant performance venue,
The Greene Space.
We will be entertained by The Claremont
Trio, widely regarded as the premier
piano trio of its generation. Having won
numerous awards, including the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson
International Trio Award and Young Concert
Artists International Auditions, we are certain
that their performance will be "standing ovation
only."
About The Claremont Trio
Widely
regarded as the premier piano trio of its
generation, the Claremont Trio is sought after
for its thrillingly virtuosic and richly
communicative performances. First winners of the
Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio
Award and the only piano trio ever to win the
Young Concert Artists International Auditions,
the Claremonts are consistently lauded for their
"aesthetic maturity, interpretive depth, and
exuberance"
(Palm Beach Daily News).
The Claremont Trio’s 2010-11 season includes
engagements at Boston’s prestigious Celebrity
Series, New York’s Symphony Space, Chicago’s
Dame Myra Hess Series, Johns Hopkins University,
Dayton’s Vanguard Concerts, and Jacksonville’s
Riverside Fine Arts Association, along with the
Chamber Music Societies of Phoenix and Sedona,
and Pasadena’s Coleman Chamber Music
Association.
The Trio also performs in 10-11 at Virginia
Commonwealth University in Richmond, Hope
College, Western Illinois University, Milton
Academy,
and the JCC of Greater Washington.

About WQXR
Classical 105.9 FM
WQXR is New York City’s only all-classical
music station, immersing listeners in the
city’s rich musical life. The "new" WQXR
sounds largely familiar to longtime WQXR
listeners, though it takes a more deliberate
approach to the "best of the best" of the
classical core, with a particular focus on
live music from New York’s unparalleled
cultural scene. WQXR presents new and
landmark classical recordings as well as
live concerts from the Metropolitan Opera,
the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center,
and the New York Philharmonic, among other
city venues. WQXR broadcasts essential shows
such as Metropolitan Opera Radio Saturday
Matinee Broadcasts, The Philharmonic This
Week on Thursday evenings, McGraw Hill Young
Artists Showcase on Wednesday evenings, and
Symphony Hall each weeknight. They also hear
more programming from the city's cultural
organizations such as the Chamber Music
Society of Lincoln Center.
Music is hosted by Jeff Spurgeon in the
morning,
Midge Woolsey in the afternoons and Elliott
Forrest during the weekend "brunch" hour.
WNYC's David Garland and Terrance McKnight,
formerly heard in the evenings on WNYC, host
classical music in the evenings on WQXR.
Naomi Lewin, the new afternoon host, joined
WQXR from WGUC, Cincinnati's Classical
Public Radio. Lewin has also produced Met
Cameos for the Metropolitan Opera's
international radio broadcasts. Exploring
Music, hosted by Bill McLaughlin, is now
heard in the late evening.

About Q2
For listeners in search of the new, WQXR
also operates Q2, a 24-hour-a-day online
music stream dedicated to contemporary
classical composers, cross-genre adventures,
and performances from New York City’s edgier
venues. This new online radio station
features "500 Years of New Music" and is
programmed by WNYC’s Executive Producer for
Music, Limor Tomer. With a more contemporary
focus than WQXR, it features large- scale
festival programming as well as live
concerts from venues around New York,
including WNYC's new performance studio, The
Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. A weekly
two-hour version of Q2 airs on WQXR on
Saturday nights at 10 PM, hosted by Terrance
McKnight. WQXR.org provides essential
playlist information for online listening,
as well as original content, host blogs, NYC
cultural news, and videos.
About The Greene Space
The Greene Space is the new multi-platform
broadcast studio and performance venue of WNYC
and WQXR, forging a new way to present exciting
content by capturing the energy of live
performance, the open access of radio, and the
geographical scope and interactivity of the web.
A unique destination for some of the most
innovative artists, musicians, and thinkers,
including Patrick Stewart, John Cameron
Mitchell, the late Jill Clayburgh, Brian Stokes
Mitchell, Simone Dinnerstein, Chou Wen-Chung,
Brentano String Quartet, Sting, Lou Reed, Cornel
West, and Sonia Sanchez. The Greene Space allows
in-person performance, radio, and web-based
videocasting to merge seamlessly, fostering new
audience possibilities and vibrant creativity.
