NEW
YORK,
NY,
–
Ever
wonder
why
you’re
always
so
hungry?
Not
getting
enough
sleep?
Feeling
stressed?
The
answers
to
these
questions
are
sitting
right
in
the
palm
of
your
hand.
B
Healthy
U’s
“Body
&
Mind
Connection”,
a
new
application
for
the
iPhone
now
available
for
download
in
Apple’s
App
Store,
is
the
first
app
of
its
kind
that
helps
people
live
healthier
lifestyles
by
showing
how
various
lifestyle
factors
interact
with
one
another.
The
program
also
offers
daily
diet
and
exercise
tips
from
world-class
experts,
including
Dr.
David
Katz,
director
of
the
Yale
University
Prevention
Research
Center,
and
Joe
Decker,
recognized
as
“The
World’s
Fittest
Man“
after
breaking
the
Guinness
World
Records
24-Hour
Physical
Fitness
Challenge
in
2000.
Each
day,
the
app
will
ask
the
user
to
rate,
on a
scale
of
one
to
five,
how
they
have
done
on a
set
of
specific
lifestyle
factors:
diet,
exercise,
sleep,
hunger,
energy,
mood,
stress
and
weight.
With
many
people,
lack
of
sleep
can
wreak
havoc
with
their
appetites.
With
others,
eating
highly
processed
foods
can
create
uncontrollable
hunger,
which
may
lead
to
weight
gain.
Once
a
person
becomes
aware
of
these
relationships
through
the
use
of
color-coded
graphs
offered
in
the
app,
they
can
adjust
their
lifestyle
to
better
match
their
health
and
fitness
goals.
After
using
the
app
daily
for
two
weeks,
the
user
receives
a
printable
diploma,
and
after
one
month,
they
receive
a
graduate
degree.
“I
created
this
app
because
I
wanted
to
share
the
benefits
that
come
with
a
healthier
lifestyle,”
said
Mitzi
Perdue,
Founder
of B
Healthy
U.
“What
you
eat,
how
you
exercise
and
how
well
you
sleep
can
have
powerful
and
unexpected
consequences
on
other
aspects
of
your
life.
It
takes
no
more
than
60
seconds
each
day
to
rate
these
lifestyle
factors
and,
as a
result,
it
can
truly
change
your
life.”
One
of
the
unique
features
of
the
app
is
its
daily
diet
and
exercise
recommendations.
The
diet
information
comes
from
Dr.
David
Katz,
a
world
authority
in
nutrition
and
weight
management
who
has
studied
thousands
of
diets.
The
exercise
tips
come
from
Joe
Decker,
an
ultra-endurance
power
athlete,
fitness
trainer
and
syndicated
columnist
who
has
helped
thousands
of
people
get
into
shape
and
lose
weight.
Lastly,
encouragement
comes
directly
from
the
program’s
author,
Mitzi
Perdue.
As
Founder

Delmarva,
a
community
lifestyle

effort

Eastern

she
has
spoken
with
thousands
of
people
and
seen
the
joy
they
have
felt
when
they’ve
lost
weight,
reclaimed
their
energy,
are
able
to
sleep
well
or
have
had
their
moods
improve.
