More
than
300
supporters
recently
gathered
to
celebrate
30
years
of
vital
human
services
that
continue
to
make
a
crucial
difference
for
residents
of
all
ages
throughout
South
Palm
Beach
County.
In
sparkling
elegance
at
St.
Andrews
Country
Club,
they
rejoiced,
remembered
and
recommitted
at
the
Ruth
Rales
Jewish
Family
Service
(RRJFS)
Anniversary
Gala.
“We
could
not
be
more
proud
to
celebrate
this
milestone
anniversary
of
responding
to
critical
community
needs,”
said
Arnold
Friedman,
RRJFS
Financial
Resource
Development
Chair.
“Your
compassion
and
generosity
have
already
given
us a
remarkable
history,
taking
us
from
a
store
front
with
one
part-time
social
worker,
in
1979,
to
our
non-denominational
multi-service
agency
that
helps
35,000
clients
each
year.”
Friedman
co-chaired
the
gala
with
his
wife
Isabel,
Judi
and
Craig
Donoff,
and
Wendy
and
Wayne
Legum.
Their
vibrant
creativity
and
meticulous
planning
were
evident
throughout
the
evening,
and
in
the
great
success
of
the
event’s
fundraising
activities.
Following
a
sumptuous
cocktail
reception
and
silent
auction,
the
guests
entered
an
exquisite
wonderland
of
lights
and
music
for
dinner,
dancing,
and
a
live
auction
of
luxurious
jewelry
and
travel.
Yet,
continuing
to
address
the
rising
essential
needs
of
local
residents
was
clearly
at
the
heart
of
the
evening.

“RRJFS
provides
a
safety
net
for
our
neighbors
who
need
it
most
-
frail
seniors,
the
hungry,
Holocaust
survivors,
families
in
crisis
–
and
an
unprecedented
number
of
people
are
requesting
assistance
with
daily
needs
and
counseling,”
said
Larry
Blair,
RRJFS
Chair.
“We
take
inspiration
from
champions
like
Ron
and
Meryl
Gallatin,
and
others
whose
generosity
has
increased
as
times
have
gotten
more
difficult
for
all
of
us.”
At
the
gala,
the
Gallatins
received
the
inaugural
Ruth
and
Norman
Rales
Humanitarian
of
the
Year
Award.
Designed
to
honor
“commitment
to
RRJFS,
community
involvement,
philanthropic
spirit,
excellent
leadership
and
unique
ability
to
motivate
and
inspire
others
by
example,”
the
award
was
presented
by
William
S.
Bernstein,
President
&
CEO
of
the
Jewish
Federation
of
South
Palm
Beach
County,
of
which
RRJFS
is a
founding
beneficiary
agency.
Bernstein
lauded
the
Gallatins
for
their
longstanding
leadership
in
numerous
local,
New
York
and
national
charitable
efforts.
