The Doe Fund
held its annual fundraising gala on
Thursday, October 28, 2010; Cipriani 42nd
Street; 110 E. 42nd St.
Actor and
philanthropist Ethan Hawke was honored by The
Doe Fund for his longstanding support of the “men in
blue” of the Ready,
Willing & Able program. The Gala
Chairman was Craig Lucas of
Zimmer-Lucas Partners LLC.
They were
joined by several members of the fashion and
entertainment industries, such as footwear magnate
Steve Madden and Wendy Madden;
recording artists Jazmine Sullivan and
John Forte and model Irina Shayk
Also
attending were: Doe Fund Board Chairman Peter
Resnick and
Andrea Resnick; Vice Chairman of Neuberger
Berman Marvin Schwartz and Donna Schwartz;
Doe Fund Board Member Christina Horner
and John Horner and philanthropist
and businessman
Ira
Rennert.
Proceeds from
the evening will benefit the Ready, Willing & Able
program, which helps formerly homeless and formerly
incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives through
paid transitional work and comprehensive support
services. The program is best known for its easily
recognized “men in blue,” who can be seen each day
cleaning more than 150 miles of New York City’s
streets and sidewalks while they work their way back
to their families as responsible fathers and to
their communities as role models.
