On Saturday, August 20 Amanda Hearst, Frances Hayward
and Annie Churchill hosted the release of "The Bond," a
new book by Wayne Pacelle, CEO of The Humane Society of
the U.S. at Georgica Restaurant & Lounge. Guests,
including Oliver Estreich, Jean Shafiroff, Dr. Robert
Grant, Cassandra Seidenfeld, Elaine Sargent, Alexa
Winner, Gail Schoentag, Devorah Rose and Teresa Sorkin
enjoyed Perrier cocktails and vegan treats by Executive
Chef Seth Levine. The evening also kicked-off the
upcoming "To the Rescue! Gala" in October 2011.
Fans of Wayne Pacelle, HSUS and its 'big
picture' work towards changing laws as well as public
perceptions include rap impresario Russell Simmons who,
along with Frances Hayward and her beloved late rescue
dog "Amigo" have done PSA's together to help combat the
scourge of dog fighting as well as august members of
New York society who helped to make last years Gala in
aid of the HSUS anti Puppy Mill Crusade such a
resounding success.
