Celebrating the launch
of the
2011 World Youth Peace Summit
This historic Summit, which will take place in the
Greater Hartford, Connecticut area in July 2011, will
include the
participation of over 20,000 representatives from virtually
every country in the world.
The culmination of the Summit
will be the launch of the Hassenfeld Center for
Social Entrepreneurship.
We are also pleased to announce that
Mr. Amir Dossal,
former Executive Director of United Nations Office for
Partnerships and Founder and Chairman of the Global
Partnerships Forum, has graciously accepted to serve as
the Special Envoy to the United Nations for the
World Youth Peace Summit.
We are very pleased to inform you that Nobel Laureate
and former US Vice President Al Gore,
General Colin Powell, and Mr. Greg
Mortenson, author of
Three Cups of Tea, have kindly agreed to participate
and speak at the Summit.
The July Summit will be preceded by the Connecticut Peace Walk on May 21st
in Hartford, CT, and we are
honored that Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu
will serve as the Grand Marshal.
This Peace Walk is one of thousands we will be hosting
throughout the world during that weekend in May.
