Luxury goods brand
Montblanc announced today a new
and unique charitable
partnership with Best Buddies
International. Best Buddies is a
global non-profit organization
that
creates opportunities for
friendship, employment and
leadership development for
people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities. This
is an excellent partnership with
Montblanc, a brand who bears a
long international heritage of
social responsibility.
Montblanc’s other national and
international campaigns
include “Signature for Good”
with UNICEF and partnerships
with Urban Arts Partnership
and Jewelers for Children.
During March 2011, 11% of the proceeds
from 11 Montblanc stores over an
11-day period will be donated
directly to the Best Buddies
organization. These funds will
help improve the lives of
thousands of people in the
United States and abroad. The
Montblanc boutiques
participating in this campaign
are Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Orlando, Tampa,
Chicago, Boston, New York City
(Madison Avenue and Soho), King
of Prussia, Houston, and Dallas.
Jan-Patrick Schmitz, President and CEO
of Montblanc North America,
explained the partnership:
“Montblanc has always believed
in the importance of inclusion
and having a secure life base,
with friends and employment as
the foundation of every
individual. We are proud to
support Best Buddies, a unique
organization that assists people
with intellectual and
developmental disabilities and
educates others about their
abilities. By actively
supporting their program, we
will make a positive difference
in the lives of many.”
Launch events will be held at all
participating stores on March 1,
2011. Best Buddies supporters
and friends of Montblanc include
Anthony Kennedy Shriver (New
York City), Becca Cason Thrash
(Houston) and Katherine
Schwarzenegger (Rodeo Drive).
The final contribution from all
store proceeds will be presented
at the Best Buddies Gala in Palm
Beach on March 18th,
2011.
“I am thrilled that Montblanc has made
a commitment to help improve the
lives of our communities’ most
vulnerable citizens – our
friends with intellectual and
developmental disabilities,”
said Anthony Kennedy Shriver,
Founder and Chairman of Best
Buddies International. “I hope
that their dedication to Best
Buddies and our mission of
inclusion will inspire others to
follow suit, and commit to
serve, as well.”
