The Tower Penthouse at The Carnegie
Abbey Club, the closest waterfront spot to heaven between
Washington, D.C. and Maine, was the setting for a stunning
Fall fashion show by the design house of Badgley Mischka for
the benefit of the Ophelia programs of Child & Family
Services of Rhode Island. The event's creator, interior
designer Ally Coulter, served as co-chair with her two
daughters, Katherine and Ella Haines.
An award for the Mentor of the Year
went to Brian O'Neill, owner and developer of The Carnegie
Abbey Club, and and father of 3 daughters, the youngest of
which, Laurencia, was "the son of his dreams" and "destined
to run the company", according to her proud father.
James Mischka and Mark Badgley
attended, along with Miriam O'Neill, Leonard Lauren, so and
so of Ralph Lauren Home. Seen also were James and Bryann
Nuzzo (he a former financial advisor to the Reagan
Administration), Pamela O'Connor and son Morgan O'Connor,
Kimberly Skeen-Jones, ABC6 meteorologist Steve Cascione,
Melanie Delman of Lila Delman Real Estate , Stacie Bewkes of
Quintessence Magazine, and hair designer Frank Rosario.
Actor Kyle McLachlan was detained because of a film shoot.
"An Evening to Insi was sponsored by
Ralph Lauren Home and Forbes Life Magazine, and drew 125
ultra chic guests, who ooohed and aaahed over the timeless
classic fashions. and haute couture runway show. The
evening ended with disco dancing to a DJ.
The Ophelia programs serve young women
from 12 to 18, for all social and economic backgrounds, near
