Celebrated
its 30th Anniversary
with a Fall
Soiree in
NYC

Wednesday,
November 14th, French
Heritage
Society (FHS) hosted
a festive
fall soiree
at the Union
Club in
New York in
honor of its
30th Anniversary. Continuing
its
commemorative
festivities
in France
last month
with a Cocktail
Dînatoire in
Manhattan,
FHS
celebrated
with a
1920’s
themed fête
to benefit a
campaign
supporting
historic
restorations
of the Church
of Saint-Germain-des-Pres.
The evening,
which
featured
cocktails,
buffet,
dancing and
entertainment,
was held
under the
high
patronage of
His
Excellency Francois
Delattre,
Ambassador
of France to
the U.S.,
and Mr.
Antonin
Baudry, Cultural
Counselor of
the French
Embassy. FHS
Chairman Elizabeth
Stribling and
FHS
President
Comte Denis
de Kergolay were
joined by
Gala
Chairmen CeCe
Black, Margo
Langenberg,
Liz
McDermott,
Betsy
Santarlasci,
Jean
Shafiroff and Ann

In addition
to a silent
auction, a
live auction
led by George
Sape featured
two Harry
Winston Ocean
Sport ™
timepieces;
a men’s
watch, which
raised
$8,500 and a
ladies
watch, which
went for
$7,500. The
evening
featured
wines from Vins
Jean-Luc
Colombo and
celebratory
décor
orchestrated
by Odile
de
Schiétère-Longchampt. Sponsors
for the
night
included Château
de Clos Lucé,
Rail Europe,
Baccarat,
Valrhona,
Domaine de
Jouanda Bas
Armagnac,
French
Heritage
Society’s
Cercle des
Amis,
and Harry
Winston.
French
Heritage
Society was
founded in
1982 as a
two way
street for
Americans
and French
to share
their love
ofhistoric
architecture.
FHS has
contributed
to almost
500
restoration
grants and
helped
secure
almost $18
million
dollars for
historic
monuments,
buildings
and gardens
in every
department
in France
and to
properties
in the
United
States that
reflect
France’s
historic
influence.
FHS has
intervened
after
numerous
natural
disasters
such as the
1999 storms
in France
and
Hurricanes
Hugo
andKatrina
in the U.S.
FHS also
organizes
unique
student
internship
opportunities
in both
countries
and offers
enriching
cultural
trips in
France and
the U.S. for
its members.

Chapters in
the United
States and
one in
Paris. For
