The International Wine & Food Festival
of New Paltz for 2015 was again held for
three days from May 29th to May 31 at
this gorgeous castle named Mohonk
Mountain House (Castle). The castle was
such a beautiful, majestic, and glorious
looking building that it reminds me of
many of the Castles that I stayed at
when traveling in Europe. Once again I
met with the Director of Marketing Nina
Smiley of Mohonk, and many very nice and
friendly people.
The festival was hosted
by the International Wine Masters headed
by a hardworking couple Sam and Dushka
Ramic, and their group who all did such
a terrific job. They are also the
Founders of Wine Worldwide Inc. The
festival is in partnership with the
Italian Trade Agency and many more other
companies that we will mention
later. The first night as always, is the
opening night that starts off with
a beautiful cocktail reception held at
the terrace with the Wine Producers,
Food Producers, Sponsors, VIP guests,
and members of the Press where everyone
had such a grand time socializing. Of
note, these were global wine producers
coming from Albania, Argentina,
Australia, Bosnia, Chile, Croatia,
France, Germany, Greece,
Italy, Macedonia, Portugal, Spain,
and the United States.
There was Vodka and
Cognac and it was represented by the
President of Emperors Brand, Zina Mashin,
and her father David Mashin. Emperor's
Brand very own Napoleon Bonaparte,
representing the GIORGIO G
Cognac (by famous designer Giorgio
GUCCI) and Emperors Vodka. Emperors
Vodka won the Double Gold as the BEST
VODKA of the year in 2013, which a great
win - this was pitted against the other
vodkas from all over the world. The
Giorgio G Cognac of Giorgio GUCCI is so
delicious and so smooth and is the best
Cognac that I have ever personally
tasted. The 50 year old is only a
limited edition of 1000, and also the 30
year old, and of course they have the XO
in which is a more open edition. All the
letters and logo used in this cognac is
made of 22 carats gold. Besides of the
delicious taste, the bottles are also
designed by GIORGIO GUCCI. This Cognac
has been conceived and created with the
same high quality standards as clothing
fashion designs
that GUCCI is recognized for.

After the cocktail
reception, we all migrated to the main
floor where they have several
entertainers singing and
entertaining the guests, while sumptuous
food was being served in the main
dining room comprised of steak, a lot
of seafood, pastas, all kinds of
salads, all kinds of desserts… such a
fabulous array of delicious foods.
Several chefs were helping in serving
the roast beef, and yes and to add this
delicious food were the different wine
producers serving their own personal
wines to the guests. They all had table
wine displays around the room, and
everyone was jovial, and friendly. It is
really nice to see all these wonderful
people again… we get to see them every
year at this wine festival.
The following
day, Saturday was a big
day. Registration started at 9:00 a.m.
and all the ballrooms in every floor and
meeting rooms were occupied by 700 Wine
and Food Producers and Michelin Chefs
from different parts of the world headed
by famous ladies: Martha Stewart, Sarah
Moulton, Rose Levy, Rose Beranbaum,
Rossana Di Michele of Italy - all these
ladies have cooking shows or are authors
of several famous cookbooks. And of
course last, but not least Chef Marcus
of Tyme Bistro who was cooking "The New
American Cuisine." We also have several
Wine Educators from Mile Rupic,
originally a well-known actor and
songwriter from Croatia, now a wine
educator, Michael Weiss originally from
Canada who serves as a wine judge in
America as well as abroad, also Steven
Kolpan a Professor of Wine Studies at
the Culinary Institute of America who
gave Wine & Food Seminar, and Kevin
Zraly who also gave a Wine Seminar. And
we also have Lou Di Palo who is noted
trade member and fourth generation
purveyor of authentic products for Italy
who gave a cheese seminar, Sarah Moulton
lectured and provided a cooking
demonstration, and Rose Levy, Rose
Beranbaum, Rossana Di Michele and Marcus
Guiliano did food demonstrations, the
event included so many other chefs that
were cooking scrumptious foods
throughout the whole day, and for a
several days which we all truly enjoyed.
There was a continual throng of events
throughout the program including
Saturday. A Silent Auction, Cru Tasting,
Saber Ceremony, wine seminars, and
cooking demonstrations by different
chefs in different ballrooms and beside
them, there were different Wines and
Champagnes Producers serving their
delicious products, 700 Wines
and Champagnes and Food Producers from
all over the world participated at this
event. Martha Stewart gave a lecture,
and she also did a book signing of her
book. The line was so very long she surely signed
a lot of her
books, purchased by the guests
which took several hours. And the guests
enjoyed having their pictures
taken also
with her.
Sam Ramic was the Moderator of the Open
Forum and the Award Ceremony.
That afternoon we also had a fashion
show which was a big hit that was
produced by yours truly Gloria T.
Cressler.
It was emceed by Ben Ramic, There where two fashion
Designers, featuring Italian Men's
clothing Designer Pisano and a French
Designer,
Daniel Cremieux, who makes both clothes for
women and men. And for accessories: Alvero Martini 1'CLASSE Italian leather
bags for Urban Travellers, who was also
in the fashion show. My models started
off with my tall European Super Model
headed by Angelina Shipilina, Kristina
Davis, Elena Konovalova, for the men,
Sergie Mihailov, Eugene Gromov and Todd
Elkins, and Richard Alan of Richard Alan
Management had some his
models participated in the fashion show
also and it is headed by Andonios
Drougas. All the guests were impressed
with our beautiful and good looking
models and of course, as well with the
looks of all the elegant and sharp
looking outfits. My friend Ellza
Belleza of Ellza Belleza brought
our hardworking Hair and Make-up Artists
Hoda and Nadia, and both Tifani and
Tiana Ramic also assisted in the fashion
shows.
That evening was a Gala
dinner exclusively for the VIP GUESTS
and the WINE & FOOD PRODUCERS where more
great foods and wines were being served,
very good entertainment was had and also
a live auction to
benefit our charity: The Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation. That night the emcee and
Auctioneer is Kevin Zraly who is the
proud winner of the Indorato painting
that was put on auction (Indorato also
had an art exhibition that day). There
were a lot of beautiful pieces that were
auctioned off that night.
