The 25th anniversary of the Slovak Republic

Ladislava Begeç, the Consul General of Slovakia
in New York; Miroslav Lajčák, President of the United Nations
General Assembly; John Palka, award-winning professor and
author; George Sipko PhD, Founder, of KOGER, a global financial
services technology company, who currently serves as its
Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer; Marica Vilcek,
Cofounder, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Vilcek Foundation;
Dr. Jan T. Vilcek, research professor at New York University
School of Medicine and Cofounder, CEO and Chairman of the Vilcek
Foundation; and Michal Mlynár, Slovakia's Ambassador and
Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Four distinguished laureates of Slovak origin
were honored at the celebration of the 25th anniversary
of the Slovak Republic Consulate General of Slovakia. H. E. Mr.
Miroslav Lajčák, President of the 72nd session of the UN General
Assembly and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the
Slovak Republic, recognized Professor Jan Palka, George Sipko
PhD, Professor Jan Vilcek and Mrs. Marica Vilcek for their
lifetime of work in the fields of history, science, finance and
philanthropy. The gala was organized by the General Consulate of
the Slovak Republic in New York, in cooperation with the
Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations
in New York.
