More than 100 New Yorkers -- as diverse as the City itself
-- gathered at the New-York Historical Society on the
evening of Thursday, June 21, 2018 to celebrate the new
book Journeys:
An American Story,
a collection of 72 personal essays chronicling immigration
and American greatness. Journeys was compiled by
Andrew Tisch, co-chairman of the board and chairman of the
executive committee of Loews Corporation and New-York
Historical Society Vice Chair, and Mary Skafidas, head of
Investor Relations and Corporate Communications for Loews
Corporation. Profits from the book will be donated to the
New-York Historical Society and the Statue of Liberty Ellis
Island Foundation. New-York Historical Society’s President
and CEO, Louise
Mirrer, emceed the event.
