Harmony Liu, A Youth Ambassador for Global
Future Leader Organization
winner of the Tri-States Int'l Latin Dance Award
2018 Tri-State International Latin Dance
Competition was organized by the National Dance Association
and held at Stamford Hilton Hotel in Stamford , Connecticut
. Latin dance contestants from different states gathered to
participate in the fierce and competitive competition.
Eventually, four Chinese-American teenagers organized by
Global Future Leader Organization and New York’s “RuBao
Dance School” joined this competition, From many diverse and
different contestants all over the world, these four kids
worked hard for their awards.
Among the four, the young ambassador of the
global future leaders organization Harmony Liu (12 years
old) and her partner - 13-year-old Norman Pang successively
won two first places and one second place in three
individual events. The two said that although they had not
been dancing for a long time, they had made rapid progress
because of the hard work their parents and teachers put in.
They had not only learned how to dance, but it has also
improved their social PR and networks skills.
The other two dancers are Henry Wang and
Sarah Li (second and third prizes).
The owner and one of the instructors of RuBao
dance academy,
Mr. Ru Bao said that the performance of this year’s students
was particularly good and parents were very satisfied. They
also became more confident and enthusiastic about allowing
children to participate in extracurricular activities.
According to reports, in addition to having
two classes and exercises from Monday to Sunday, these
participating dancers will at least spend two or more days
practicing dance. Some parents indicated that they hoped
some introverted children could become more cheerful through
dancing and cultivate their emotional intelligence. They did
not think about winning prizes, but after learning to dance,
the children's changes were very obvious and parents were
happily surprised. Their children were not only willing to
take the initiative to make friends with other peers, but
also were willing to communicate with teachers, and their
dance skills are getting better and better.
On another note, many children of the global
future leaders including Harmony Liu , Eirene Liu
successfully participated in the Chinese children's musical
“The Monkey King Fighting Ox Monster” on Broadway.
The children also learned a lot of music in different roles,
which included dance .
