Breaks Record
by Raising Over $275,000 at
Annual ‘New York Next
Generation’ Event
|
NEW YORK, NY (April 8, 2019) – The United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum held its signature “New York Next
Generation” event on April 3 at Current at Chelsea Piers for
over 250 New Yorkers in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Chaired by Jesse
Marlo Lazowski and Jonah
Lazowski, the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors,
the event focused on the Museum’s initiatives to use the lessons
of the Holocaust to prevent genocide.

Naomi Kikoler,
Acting Director, Simon-Skjodt Center for the Prevention of
Genocide, U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and Rebecca
Erbelding, Historian, Education Initiatives, U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum, spoke of the Museum’s work conducted
today to prevent atrocities.

The Museum broke a fundraising record at this
year’s event, raising over $275,000. In
2018, this event raised $145,000. The Museum’s New
York Next Generation Community is
comprised of 35 board members and more than 800 supporters,
many of whom are grandchildren of Holocaust survivors.
Chaired by Jaymere Stein, the New York Next
Generation Community is always looking to expand its network
of supporters. |
