Live Well: Integrative Care and Tech-Based
Health |
Weill Cornell Medicine hosted the 37th annual
Women’s Health Symposium and brunch reception on Monday, October
28 at Citi Global Headquarters. The event, which benefited the
Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center, was chaired by Joan Weill and
Dr. Orli Etingin, director of the center. The symposium, titled
“Live Well: Integrative Care and Tech-Based Health,” featured
presentations by Deborah Estrin, PhD, and Dr. Alka Gupta. |
Dr. Estrin, professor
of healthcare policy and research at Weill Cornell Medicine and
associate dean for impact at Cornell Tech, discussed
the ability of tools such as cell phones, GPS devices, fitness
trackers and our interactions online to produce individualized
health data and insights into personal behavior patterns that
can be used to provide individualized medical care. |
Dr. Gupta, co-director of The Integrative Health and Wellbeing
Program at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian,
shared insights into care that integrates conventional medical
treatments with evidence-based integrative modalities, including
nutrition counseling, psychological care and mind-body
therapy. |
Dr. Etingin joined Drs. Estrin and Gupta for a Q-and-A with the
audience following the presentation. |
