Asia's Impersonation Superstar and Michael
Jackson's Heir,
Jackson Wang,
Calls for an End to
Ocean Nuclear Pollution
at the United Nations"
Reported by junior journalist Man San Lam from the National
Network TV station: On July 18, the first day of the
"United Nations Youth Leadership Internship Course"
designed by the World Harmony Foundation for university
students, we were delighted to invite Asia's renowned
impersonation superstar and Michael Jackson's heir, Jackson
Wang, to our opening ceremony.
Today, under his leadership, he and our students initiated an
environmental action to protect the ocean and
put an end to
nuclear pollution!
The ocean protection campaign received support from 120 UN
eco-academy members who backed the action to stop nuclear
wastewater pollution on World Water Day!
Former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama
personally signed in support of the students' environmental
action alongside the chair of the World Harmony Foundation's
Japanese branch, Mr. Huang, and penned on the Foundation's
ocean protection initiative,
"We cannot let humans disappear like dinosaurs
a hundred years from now"!
Young girls Harmony Liu, Eirene Liu, and young boy Man San
Lam called for an end to oceanic nuclear pollution.
Twelve-year-old middle school student Eirene Hope Liu
appealed to protect the ocean through her art. Asia's
impersonation show superstar and Michael Jackson's heir,
Jackson Wang (Wang Jie), stepped into the United Nations in
collaboration with the World Harmony Foundation - UCE
educational institution's excellent internship program,
supporting the ocean protection campaign and jointly
appealing for the protection of the oceans and the end of
nuclear pollution.
This initiative received support from ambassadors of Africa,
South America, the Middle East, and other countries!
The fate of our oceans is a shared responsibility.
The power of one person is far from enough. Humans must live
harmoniously with the oceans, and all nations must take
coordinated, powerful action to safeguard the tranquility
and sustainable development of our oceans.
This is the duty and historical mission of each and every
one
of us on Earth.
Since the dawn of humankind, we have relied on the ocean for
food and livelihood. Seafood is a major source of protein on
our tables, and tens of millions of people make a living
from the sea.
It is estimated that marine fisheries provide 57 million job
positions worldwide. The ocean's ability to resist and
recover is not infinite. By dumping waste and discharging
sewage into the sea, can we still have fresh seafood? If
ocean pollution seeps into the continents,
is there any safe place left?
How will the United Nations and leaders of various countries
face accountability to 7.5 billion people? Therefore, we
must support the World Harmony Foundation's ocean protection
campaign.
Treating the ocean kindly is not a choice, but a necessary
action to protect our human home.
The United Nations designated June 8 of each year as
"World Oceans Day"
during its 63rd session. The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
noted in his address that human activity is making the ocean
world
pay a terrible price.
Individuals and groups have a duty to protect the oceans and
manage ocean resources responsibly. Covering over 70% of the
Earth's surface, the ocean is the cradle of life, the link
connecting the world, the platform promoting development,
and holds great significance for
the existence and
development of human society. |
