9月29日纽约报道，第79届联合国大会的主题会外活动利用技术和青年领导力深化安全、共享繁荣和增强妇女在尼日利亚和联邦首都特区的能力今天在纽约联合国人口普查办公室召开，由阿布贾妇女联合会妇女事务秘书处任务秘书本杰明·拉尼伊（Adedayo
Benjamins-Laniyi）博士召集和主持。
霍普金斯大学华裔学生刘和谐（Harmony
Liu）应邀在第79届联大会的此次外活动中作了线上主旨发言。她在发言中说：我叫刘和谐，是约翰霍普金斯大学的一名大二学生。虽然很遗憾我不能亲自到达尼日利亚，但我很荣幸能在纽约联合国首脑会议上发言讨论这些问题，表达亚洲青少年的声音。这个议题不仅对尼日利亚的未来，而且对全世界发展中国家的未来都具有重要意义。
刘和谐还说：美国青年常被视为未来社会的支柱。今天，尼日利亚和世界各地的青年面临着前所未有的安全挑战。同时，它们在推动创新解决方案方面有着巨大的潜力。
刘和谐表示：我们看到年轻的创新者在网络安全、农业技术和私人慈善事业中发挥了领导作用。他们的生活经历使他们对社会问题有深刻的理解，他们的适应能力使他们能够创造出相关、有影响力的解决方案。如果今天的孩子们拥有支持他们的平台，如果政府和组织帮助提供必要的资源和指导，以促进更多由年轻人主导的倡议，我相信，我们这一代人以及以后的一代人的精力、创造力和技术专长将有助于有效的安全战略、食品安全和改善我们的社会。
刘和谐孝敬长辈、关爱弟弟妹妹、帮助心理困惑的同学，是个具有综合性涵养与领导力素质的优秀学生。
她除了写作，热爱写诗、音乐、舞蹈拉丁舞、街舞、钢琴，古筝、吉他和绘画。她入大学后还被推举为舞蹈队队长，为学校编导舞蹈和组织公益活动，这也是她获得全额奖学金的原因之一。由于她积极参加各种社会义工活动，加上优异的成绩高中毕业，被美国排名第六的霍伯金森全额奖学金录取。
此外，由于刘和谐的文学才华出众，今年9月被国际冰心奖组委会聘请为国际冰心文学奖的组委会委员，以及该组委会的秘书处主任。

Ms Harmony Li. An Asian American student
of John Hopkins University participated
virtually on the recently concluded side
event on the margins of the 79 th
Session of the United Nations General
Assembly on the 26 th of September,
2023.

Due to her active participation in
various social volunteer activities,
coupled with excellent academic
performance, she graduated from high
school and was admitted to the Hobkinson
Full Scholarship,
ranked sixth in the United States |

Harmony Liu spoke eloquently:
My name is Harmony Liu, i am a
sophmore currently attending Johns
Hopkins University.
Although I unfortunately cannot be there
in person, I am honored to speak in the
United Nations Summit to discuss these
issues and express the voice of Asian
teenagers.
This topic is of great significance not
only for the future of Nigeria, but also
for the future of developing countries
around the world. |

Latin dance, and street dance |

Us
youth are often seen as a pillar of the
future society.
Today, the youth in Nigeria and around
the world face unprecedented security
challenges.
At the same time, they have great
potential to drive
innovative solutions. |

In the summer of 2024, I received a
university summer sketching scholarship
and went to Italy for study tours and
writing |
|
|
We
have seen young innovators take the lead
in cybersecurity, agricultural
technology, and private philanthropy.
Their life experiences give them a deep
understanding of social problems, and
their adaptability enables them to
create relevant, influential solutions.
If the kids of today had the platforms to support them, if governments and
organizations helped by providing the
necessary resources and guidance to
foster more youth-led initiatives, I
believe the energy, creativity, and
technical expertise of my generation and
beyond will contribute to effective
security strategies, food safety,
and the betterment of our society. |

After entering university, she was
elected as the captain of the dance team
and choreographed for her classmates |
|
|
 |
|
In addition to writing, she has a
passion for writing poetry, music, Latin
dance, street dance, piano, guzheng,
guitar, painting, self composed dances
for the school, organizing public
welfare activities, especially showing
filial piety to elders, caring for
younger siblings, and helping classmates
who are psychologically confused.
She is an excellent student with
comprehensive cultivation
and leadership qualities.
This is also one of the reasons why she
received a full scholarship,
and I wish her better achievements in
her future career development.
