On the evening of Tuesday night, February 4, 2014,
Donald Rumsfeld, the 13th(youngest Secretary of Defense,
ever), and the 21st Secretary of Defense was the guest
at a Book Event held at the WNRC in New York City for
his new book, "Rumsfeld's' Rules". |

There
were over 250 people who attended, not to mention over
120
who dined at the club afterwards.

With
his infectious wry smile, he brought a ray of hope to
people who are worried about the problems our Great
Nation faces as does the rest of the World!

Speaking, as the Chair, I had a difficult time trying to
write a single page flier for the Event, about the
enormous accomplishments, in so many different areas,
of this incredible man.

As I
said in my opening remarks to introduce him," I felt I
was reading about
three great men, not one, who lived
three awesome lifetimes in one!"
I began the evening earlier than we usually do, so he
could start to sign books, 45 minutes before the Event
began. He stands at the podium signing books, talks to
everyone and let's them take a picture with them. He did
the same at the end of the Event. I was amazed, as
everyone else was, that he could stand so long, which,
by the way, he insisted upon.
He
spoke for about 20 minutes and then took many questions.
His answers were so interesting and insightful that
the room was totally silent
and hanging on every word.
His
lovely wife , Joyce, joined him at the Event. They both
Chair the non-profit, Rumsfeld Foundation, which rewards
Public Service at home and supports the growth of
Leadership of Free Economic Systems abroad.

Attendees ranged from Frank Gaffney, Jr., Assistant
Secretary of Defense in the Reagan Administration, also
the Founder and President of the Center for Security
Policy in Wash. DC, a non-partisan educational
corporation and host of
Secure Freedom Radio.

There
were others who served under Rumsfeld, as well as
celebrities, one being Tony Lo Bianco, who sent me a
wonderful e mail today and I quote, " I was very proud
last night, to be with a brilliant, well respected
Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. He spoke from a
multitude of experiences that should be a map of how to
maintain the respect of other countries to the United
States, which is now sorely lacking. History and
experience should be sought out and followed".

Mr.
Rumsfeld's Awards and Honors from the United States and
from other countries all over the World are too many to
list. However, one given to him in 1977 is so worth
mentioning. He was Awarded our Country's Highest
Civilian Award, The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Quite
impressive.

I ended
telling this fact about him that no one or very few
know. On September 11, American Airlines FL 77, slammed
into the Pentagon. Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, inside
the building at the time, ran out to help with the
rescue operation carrying stretchers of the wounded out
of the building!
