St. Francis Food Pantries
and Shelters hosted
its Twelfth Annual "Thanksgiving In February" feast on
Saturday, February 22, 2014. Dozens of corporate
employees volunteered at the luncheon sponsored by Con
Edison and Macy's.
Celebrity Volunteer Constantine
Maroulis,
Broadway star and former American
Idol finalist,
also helped to serve meals and partake in an afternoon
of serving others.
Hundreds of guests, who are clients of
St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters network of food
pantries, soup kitchens and shelters were treated to a
traditional sit-down Thanksgiving meal. The highlights
of the menu included: turkey with gravy, stuffing,
mashed potatoes, corn, string beans and cranberry
sauce.
Guests also enjoyed music and live
entertainment in the form of face painting, balloon
sculpting, a magician and even
Spider-Man himself!
Special treats, donated items and meals to go were also
provided to everyone who attended.
Corporate Volunteer
Leaders Frances Resheske – SVP of Public Affairs, Con
Edison and Mitch Leventhal – Executive Vice President of
Financial Planning, Macy’s were also present at the
luncheon.
Together, St. Francis Food Pantries and
Shelters and all of its volunteers displayed that
although the holiday season is over - GIVING BACK is
year round.
