On Monday, May 20th, The Metropolitan
Opera paid tribute to
Barbara Tober, a luminary in
philanthropy and arts patronage, for her
unwavering support of the opera and her
monumental achievements.
Her contributions, which have left an
indelible mark on numerous arts
institutions, continue to serve as a
beacon of inspiration for all. |
The On Stage at the Met Gala unfolded on
the grand stage of the opera house in
New York, with the awe-inspiring
Turandot set and the
3500-seat auditorium providing a
majestic backdrop for the guests,
performing artists, and speakers.
The patrons, elegantly attired in
black-tie and ball gowns, savored a
sumptuous dinner before the 90-year-old
Barbara Tober, filled with youthful
energy, led the way to the dance floor,
guided by the Metropolitan Opera's
General Manager Peter Gelb.
The evening was further enriched by
stellar performances from Met artists
such as Seokjong Baek, Anthony
Roth Costanzo, Ryan Speedo Green,
Clémentine
